My name is Tara Edin. As a rape and sexual assault survivor, who has struggled for many years and come out on the bright side, my goal is to help fellow survivors feel less alone, less crazy, and more hopeful about life. Moreover, that they will be inspired to seek their highest reality and begin to experience joy again.
Rape, incest and sexual assault are unspoken controversial topics that still fester behind closed doors in the 21st century as survivors are still being told to “Get over it,” or worse, "It didn't even happen." It takes years to heal from such life-altering, traumatic experiences, and many survivors are doing this work alone. There is a great need for testimonies from those who have emerged from their ordeals stronger.
That is where my book Moonflower: A Memoir of Healing can make a difference. Being a survivor myself, I know that there are many layers to the recovery process, which are detailed in my book. The book was written to assist anyone stuck in self-defeating behavior or dis-ease that may stem from sexual abuse. Moonflower is the book I wish I'd had when I was struggling to overcome the challenges that arose.
Moonflower was written over the past 22 years and reflects my life stages: from victim, to survivor, to healer. I am so excited to share my unique healing journey with others because I know it will help frame the survivor’s experience in an honest yet empowering manner.lihat lebih sedikit
