He is responsible for developing and implementing WFN’s research programme. He leads WFN’s training and other knowledge sharing activities and helps multinationals to understand global water risks and supports them to formulate appropriate response strategies based on Water Footprint Assessment. Previously, Ashok worked for WWF-UK for six years, developing policy and practice on water stewardship and water security. Through his PhD research in the field of Water Systems and Policy Analysis, Ashok co-developed the concept of Water Footprint assessment and co-authored the ‘Water Footprint Assessment Manual’ used globally as the standard in this field. He has led the development of various tools related to water accounting. His list of publication includes 3 books and more than 50 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals, conference proceedings, book chapters and reports.
