I had a wonderful childhood in Livingstone, Zambia and spent my days exploring the bush. I now live in Hout Bay, Cape Town.
I’m an incurable romantic, and my life-long love affair with words and history made historical mystery romance a natural fit. I’ve explored southern Africa and traveled to England and France to discover and absorb their rich history.
I studied art at Pretoria Art College. Most of my works depict wildlife, marine creatures, or the ethnic people of Southern Africa. For many years, writing took a backseat to my art
I have amazing children, two daughters, a son and a daughter-in-law, who all encourage and support my writing and art. My second husband and soulmate was a cop. He was shot and killed. This tragedy drove me deeper into writing to escape my grief, but it gave me an understanding of real love.
Each of my books is very different. Ranging from dark plots, shrouded in mystery, to adventure in the Africa wilderness, social injustices, and light, humorous stories. I research the history of each era I choose to write in, weaving my characters and plots around the history of the time. I take liberties with the language otherwise it would make reading very tiring.
I start writing at about 6 am each day and finish around 4:30 pm. Writing is my passion and seldom feels like work.
I edit, ghostwrite and illustrate for a US company, Inspiration For Writers, Inc. The CEO, Sandy Tritt, is my friend, mentor, and editor, to whom I owe my writing skills.lihat lebih sedikit
