Writing, sketching, painting, and the occasional attempt at creating something edible in the kitchen keeps me busy. I was born in Maryland, grew up on bases in North Dakota, Lompoc, CA, and Kansas. I still have memories of the pink stucco house with light green trim on base in Lompoc and the orange brick house in Kansas. I can also recall that growing up wasn't a very happy time after the family transferred from Lompoc to the Midwest and led me to use my imagination to entertain myself over expecting it to be done for me in between the wild storms and warnings. As a young adult, I discovered a passion for character development and relationships through storytelling. Living in the plains states, spending lots of time alone, and having an ongoing touch of fear that a tornado might roll through at any time can lead a person to think a bit harder about disaster and death. My stories do tend to be a bit dark and perhaps meaningless although I don't feel that my writing is without meaning.
The image in the profile is "Keeper of the Plains," a sculpture located at the fork of the Arkansas River in Wichita, Kansas. I lived there in my mid/late teens and took the photo on a Polaroid camera during a trip downtown sometime in the late 1970s.lihat lebih sedikit
