and environmental education. She has a M.Sci studying the foraging
behavior of a resident pod of orcas in Washington State. Her involvement
with her own children, her experience and passion teaching thousands
of students and her travels to many places around the world has inspired
her to write the Whale of a Tale series.
About the Illustrator
Amanda Pickler’s love for art and children made it delightful for her
to illustrate a Whale of a Tale. She lives with her family in North Bend,
Washington where she stays busy with college and work. In her spare
time she enjoys the outdoors, drawing, and spending time with friends
