He earned a Ph.D. in Zoology (Primate Studies) from the University of Georgia. His professional career includes teaching at the college level and developing software applications in several domains i.e., life sciences, advanced concept prototyping, and object-oriented application development.
He currently is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; previously, he was ordained as an Elder and Deacon in the Presbyterian Church USA. He has sung in church choirs for over 30 years, beginning as a teenager in the First Congregational Church in Frostburg, Maryland.
He has studied the Gospel of Thomas for over 15 years and has presented adult Christian Education courses in topics related to Thomas’ Gospel, the letters of the Apostle Paul, and Creation Stewardship. An undergraduate minor in Philosophy was a seed that led to a life-long avocational dedication to the study of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Kabbalah.
