Creative writing courses at Berea College (Kentucky) and the University of Kentucky helped him polish his writing skills. Jim is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. His children and grandchildren have provided myriad opportunities to use his craft, focusing on character building and crucial life lessons.
