After traveling the world for thirty years as a military dependent, Nan—a mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother—is happily retired and is living in the Southern California Desert, only sixteen miles north of Mexico, with her husband and two dogs. She teaches piano and mountain dulcimer and enjoys performing with the Jugless Jug Band. Camping trips to the desert and the mountains provide ideas for more stories about Herman and his family.

Carole has retired from a career as an educator in the New York City school system. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, but enjoys travel vacations all over the world. She has dedicated her life to introducing children to the joys of reading and hopes Herman’s Adventures will open the doors to a lifelong appreciation of literature.
