Her father, Paul, was a sergeant in the Dutch Armed Forces. At the age of four, she was taught by her mother to knit, sew clothes, crochet, and embroider. The family immigrated to Canada in 1956 aboard the S.S. Groote Beer (the Big Bear), and settled in Hamilton, Ontario. Jenny has worked in a lawyer's office and financial institutions, and has been involved in real estate transactions. She is the mother of three daughters, all of whom are university graduates.This talented mother produces hundreds of outfits that are donated to disadvantaged children. She enjoys oil painting, Zumba classes, playing the piano and volunteering her services at a large charitable organization that supports the needy.
