His dad had him fly fishing by age 4 and tying his own flies so dad didn’t have to supply him with ones he tied. He had a passion for fishing and by the time he was seventeen bigger fish interested him. He started trying to learn about Salmon fishing on his own. Reading, asking questions and fishing alone, and after just one season the Salmon season ended in Idaho for five years.
Because he still had a desire for larger fish, and absolutely enjoyed drift fishing, he embarked on a journey to learn how to fish for Steelhead trout. The journey was long and frustrating, traveling many thousands of miles and spending hundreds if not thousands of hours fishing for Steelhead to learn and process what he did learn to a point of wanting to share his knowledge with others.
Walking up to a place on the river among several fishermen that were not having success and instantly catching fish, and being the only one catching fish, gave him the feeling that he truly had learned how to drift fish for Steelhead. In the many times he walked up to the river and instantly had success there was only one man that approached him and asked what he knew that nobody else knew.lihat lebih sedikit
