He graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia with a BA in Political Science before moving to Canada. There he continued with his studies at Algonquin College and earned a graduate certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, TESL. He has taught at Algonquin's main campus and more recently has been teaching at its "College of Excellence" campus in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.
Saul Gwakuba Ndlovu, (whose recollections this book is largely a narrative of) was born in 1934 at the Dombodema Mission, west of Plumtree in Zimbabwe. He studied at various institutions in southern Africa before joining ZAPU in 1964 as a full time founding editor of of The Zimbabwe Review, a party periodical that was published by the Information and Publicity secretariat which was headed by TG Silundika. Ndlovu has written several books on Zimbabwe's struggle against colonial rule including one titled "The voice of Joshua Nkomo." Saul Gwakuba Ndlovu's own liberation credentials combined with his robust experience as a journalist make him one of the most sought after historians in Zimbabwe today.
