She has worked as an elementary education teacher, a university professor, an educational consultant and administrator for over 35 years serving in various positions such as Dean of Human Services, Dean of Campus Life and Dean of Admissions. She found her passion for social economic development as a consultant for non-profit organizations like the YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, a Fundraiser for a no- kill animal shelter and for the City of Cottleville. Sheryl and her mother, Carol Sue Spellmann created and operated a retail business in the historic district of Cottleville.
Sheryl was appointed to the St. Charles County Commission of the Historical Advisory Board in 2011, by St. Charles County Executive, Steve Ehlmann. She was an officer/board member with the Cottleville Missouri Main Street Association and an officer/ board member of Cottleville Firefighters Community Outreach. Sheryl has also been a long time member of P.E.O., a philanthropic educational organization that helps women through education and has served as President. She volunteers with S.W.A.P. (Seniors with a Purpose) and continues to assist many non-profit organizations. Sheryl is a certified member of the Lewis and Clark Era Descendant Project and a lover of history.
Sheryl is a resident of Cottleville and owns/manages several properties, one of which was part of the original town plat drawn up by her relative, Lorenzo Cottle in 1839. She is the mother of two sons, has two wonderful daughter-in-laws and three grandchildren: Ryan and Laura are parents of Adalyn and Vance Guffey, Daniel and Tara are parents of Connor and William Guffey.lihat lebih sedikit
