Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, graduated from Santa Fe High School with honors in 1968; a member of the Royal Blues and a staff member of the high school news paper. Went to NMSU then finished his BA degree at the College of Santa Fe. Wanted to be an attorney at one point but then was disappointed at the system. He found out that was a successful sales person. Has been married to his wife Donna J. Sanchez for 39years and have two children and two grand children. Gil and his wife were instrumental in the design and building of their own home in the east side of Santa Fe to which they still reside today. Gil has worked for corporate America for last 30 years and served his community and his country with the New Mexico National Guard with just over 20 years of service. Gil has served in many of Boards over the years in Santa Fe to include:

Girls Club of Santa Fe Santa Fe Mountain Center (working w/high risk youth)
Gil has served as Director of Leadership Santa Fe for two years and has shown his skills as a qualified facilitator and mediator out in the community as an advisory to the Leadership Institute at the Community College in Santa Fe.
Gil, the smallest of six children, has made choices in his career to stay in Santa Fe by turning down promotions to leave, so as to stay by his parents next door and take care of them. That is the way of his culture. His children had the wonderful experience growing up with their grandparents values.
Gil has a positive attitude about everything and he believes in people. He believes that everyone has something to offer. His personal philosophy is TASTE: Truth. Accountability. Support. Trust. Energy. With that combination of interaction on a minute by minute basis, will result in respect and dignity.
He has spent many hours volunteering coaching little league through the Babe Ruth leagues and YAFL football camps. He has spent 10 years learning the art of Kajukempo, a Korean, Japanese and Chinese form of martial arts.
Never has been in trouble with the law and is currently serving on the Mayor’s Citizens Police Review Board, Cristo Rey Finance Board, Santa Fe Rape Crisis, &Trauma Treatment Center Board. Santa Fe Jaycees. Trained Docent for the Palace of the Governors Museum.lihat lebih sedikit
