Awnye` began to write poetry while she was in elementary school and by the time she reached middle school, was ready to begin working on her first book. However, she stopped writing after only a few chapters because she was more interested in boys and fun, like most teenaged girls. She finally got the urge to write again the summer before her first year of college. Once she picked up her pen and started writing, Awnye` was determined she would finish the book and Love's Remix was the final outcome a year later.
