She is married, has three daughters, and a granddaughter. Jones was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, and retired as a civilian employee from the Federal government. Additionally, she graduated from Gateway Community College with an Associate of Science degree. From there, she transferred to Southern Connecticut State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree.
