Then he worked as a prolific, distinguished drama director on many distinctive productions. Actors with whom he had a special empathy both respected and loved his directorial vision and style. Candle Dancers is his first novel, and although it is in the science-fiction genre, it draws on his deep interest in theatre, film, and television.
