Eight years later, she and fellow editorial staff were awarded the 1992 Thomson Newspapers Award of Excellence, North America, for their coverage of the Westray Mine Disaster. Since 1992 Jennifer’s articles have appeared in trade and general interest magazines in Canada and overseas; she is also an active participant in Writers in the Schools, introducing youth to opportunities held within the written word.
