Riffel grew up in Anaheim, California where he graduated from Savanna High School. Obtained an AA degree in mechanical Design from Fullerton JC and a BA in Business Management from California Polytechnics University. Served 4 years in the US Air Force. Upon Honorable discharge he obtained a job with Hoffman Electronics, later to become Gould Navcom. After 11 years with Gould he went to work for EG&G Almond for four years. Finally, retiring from a 20 year career at Northrop Grumman. Michael now spend his days writing and publishing poetry and art books for artists around the world.
