This story of self-discovery is about Deer One, an orphaned fawn, who is fostered by a dog family and has to learn who and what she was created to be. Includes insightful Bible references.
RUMA, WARRIOR PRINCESS (2012) is Paulette's first children's ebook. This humorous story is inspired by a real puppy that brings joy back into the life of a mother and daughter who lost a pet.
In 1990, Paulette delved into a long-time curiosity: her ancestral roots. The genealogy bug bit her and her family ancestry searches turned into an eighteen-year hobby before it inspired her to write her first nonfiction book, ALWAYS A BLESSING IN THE END: THE CHRONICLES OF THE FOUR ANCESTRAL LINEAGES OF BEN IVY & RUTH THOMPSON, published in 2005 in paperback (available at select online book retailers). In it she narrates the discoveries and the lives of her African American ancestors from 1790 through the subsequent centuries. After nearly thirty years, her search to learn more about her ancestors continues.
Paulette Ivy Harris was born in suburban St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She worked in the insurance industry for twelve years before her husband’s retail management career began to frequently relocate her and their young son to cities and towns within central Illinois and Indiana. Currently a resident of suburban Indianapolis, she and her husband have been married for over forty-two years and they have one adult son.
