Luis Aponte is also the author of the upcoming books, "A Safe Place: Imagining Schools without Gun Violence" and "The Ultimate U.S. School Shooting Reference Guide." These new books will serve as the most comprehensive study on every school shooting in the United States from 1990-2020. It seeks to keep kids safe by community-centered solutions that can help prevent the next school shooting. He is a member of the American Library Association, Virginia Library Association, and Florida Library Association. Whenever Luis is not writing his next book, he enjoys acting in films and training with masters of Olympic-style Taekwondo.Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Luis currently lives in Virginia with the love of his life, Eileen. They have recently adopted a four-year-old orange and white tabby cat named Ellie into their family from a local animal shelter.
