Born:1958 on an air force base that does not exist any more. Grew up mostly in a small town in Iowa. Completed a 2 year course in Auto Mechanics at DMACC in Ankeny, Iowa. Worked on cars for a while before joining the U.S. Navy. Lived in Scotland for nearly 2 years, repairing and maintaining submarines. Our first son was born there. Our second son was born at Langley Air Force base in Virginia. Did over 15 years in the Navy, mostly in submarines. I have spent about a year and nine months total of my life under the surface of the oceans. Took an early "retirement" from the Navy in 1995. Went back to working on cars again as a VW/Audi technician for about 16 years. Quit that in 2013 and finally started writing.
