She believes the most important thing in life is receiving salvation in the name of Jesus. She is a 1976 graduate of A & T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. She is married to Ulysses, and they have four children, Shelby, Stephanie, Julian, and Rajuan; four grandchildren, Marcelous, Roy, Faith, and Rhythm; and a son-in-law, Roy.
