He is chairman emeritus of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and has taught pathology at the Mount Sina, Medical Center, New York. He is currently a faculty member at UCLA and at Weill Cornell Medical College. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he now lives in Manhattan and Los Angeles.
