With various interruptions, including two undergraduate universities (for a History BA), travel to Japan and living in England, he kept up a practice. Intermingled with spirituality and prayer, testing a vocation at a monastery, seminary, marriage, and more travel to the Middle East and Africa, his meditations continued. After ten years as a Lutheran pastor, and nearly ten as a public school teacher, meditation is finding an even larger place in his home.
