Betsy worked in radio broadcasting f...lihat lebih banyakNew Mexico native, Betsy Randolph moved to Oklahoma as a child where she learned to write under the tutelage of her teacher/mother, Joyce Byrd. Betsy worked in radio broadcasting for several years in Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, and New Mexico before returning to Oklahoma. She attained an AAS in Journalism from Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, OK, where she wrote for the college paper. She began her Oklahoma law enforcement career as the first female police officer for the city of Tonkawa in 1993. She served twelve years in the US Army Reserves as a Military Police officer and Drill Sergeant. During the same time period, she worked as a police officer, police sergeant, and state trooper with the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. She retired from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol with the rank of Lieutenant in 2020 after 25 years of service. She holds additional degrees in: BS Organizational Leadership - Southern Nazarene University, AS Horticulture/Landscape Design - Oklahoma State University, and an MFA in Creative Writing - Red Earth MFA Program - Oklahoma City University. Betsy is a Life member of the NRA and the DAV. She’s a member of The American Legion - Post #58, and past President of Women Writing the West 2021-2022. Her published work includes: The Oklahoma Gazette, The Journal Record, Woods Reader Magazine, and The Oklahoman - among others. She has three published novels, and two middle grade readers.
