He served over twenty-one years with the FBI under the leadership of J. Edgar Hoover.He married his college sweetheart Florence (1923-2014) in 1945. They had three children and five grandchildren.After retiring from the FBI in 1972, he spent the next ten years training law enforcement officers for the University of Texas System.
