Born in Sweden, he graduated from Durham Medical College in Chicago 1900, specializing in cases of schizophrenia, paranoia, depression, addiction, manic-depression, criminal behavior and other phobias.
He was a member of the Chicago Medical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and chief psychiatrist at the State Psychopathic Institute of Chicago.
