I wrote the libretto and composed the music for a children's operetta called 'Pharaohs Mercy' which won me a double merit with the then Transvaal Education Department. I have performed Beethoven, Liszt, Mozart, Brahms, and many other pieces in concerts in Johannesburg with great acclaim. Forty years ago, I entered The Stellenbosch Wineries Short Story Competition with my humorous short story 'THE DRUMMER AND THE COOK', inspired by the cute English folk song by that name; 'My story took second place out of hundreds of entrants, and received acclaim from the critics. I am busy with the follow up to 'BLOOD OF THE POWDER'.
