As a young man he found Christ as his saviour and soon thereafter dedicated himself to the preaching of the Gospel. In 1915 he left England for the Congo to work in an uncharted part of the African Jungle. Over the next 45 years he would establish 2,000 churches, eight large hospitals and schools teaching 25,000 children. However, his impact reached far beyond the mission field through his many books and countless sermons published across the world.
