She worked in a variety of jobs, many of which were poorly paid and lacking in stimulation or satisfaction. In it all she gained huge experience and made many friends along the way.
After having her daughter at twenty she found it within herself, despite having an awful childhood, to follow a path of self development. Enhancing her career prospects by opting for further education, June eventually reached the status of Registered Nurse, Health Visitor and then Counsellor. After twenty five years in the Health Service she ventured into psychotherapy in 1987, qualifying in 1993. June trained and supervised therapists up to her retirement in 2007. She has extensive experience working with all aspects of the human condition including relationship issues, physical and sexual abuse, low self esteem, loss and grief and various attachment issues and importantly, body issues.
June decided to write a book about the struggle with compulsive eating and dieting because it is something she has been involved with for most of her life. Her journey on this path has been a long and painful one.
A widow for three years she found happiness again in a new relationship with Brian, a widower very daringly found through an internet dating agency. Between them they have three children and six grandchildren. Although the book is written in the name Brereton june is now a Heathcote.
