He was born in Minnesota and raised in Akron, Ohio. He has a BA from the University of Cincinnati and has a M.Ed. from Temple and was a Peace Corps Volunteer (1964-1966) in Brazil. His early career was in the non-profit world. Prior to going into business he was the Executive Director of the National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area. In 1981 he bought an employment agency franchise; later he started and ran with his wife of 42+ years, Susan, a temporary staffing company based in the DC area. He thought he had retired when he sold their business in 1999 only to find his son introducing him into the entertainment world in Hollywood. Harvey and Susan moved to Los Angeles and now reside in Brentwood. Together with his son Michael, he started SMG, a business and talent management company. He is an avid sailor and thanks to his daughter Claire and her husband John he has two beautiful and brilliant grandsons.lihat lebih sedikit
