Joy grew up on the farm where her grandfather labored, and she and her family still live in that vicinity. She received Christ as her Savior at a very early age. Joy met her husband, Marlon Mielke, while attending Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, and they were married in 1981. She is a home school mother of five sons, and she also serves as her husband's helpmeet in the ministry as he pastors First Baptist Church of Milltown, Wisconsin. Joy's passion is ministering the changing power of the gospel, and she believes that missionary biographies are one powerful way to show what that gospel can do.
