As the sixth child in a family of ten, that loved reading, she grew up pondering the English language her English speaking father used. She was enthralled by the Singapore lifestyle and its unique use of Singapore English. (Singlish).
Now, divorced, living in Japan for fifteen years, she encountered many misconcepts regarding language from her native country. One of the reasons for writing this novel was originally to share with the world, how delightfully entertaining, Singlish can be. Her first short story was written at the age of seventeen, entitled “Castles in the sky”.
She lives now in Hokkaido, Sapporo, enjoying the Japanese culture and its language.lihat lebih sedikit
