She is the youngest of seven siblings and one living parent. Patricia graduated from Bertie High School and later received a Certificate in Accounting and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science at Roanoke Chowan Community College, Ahoskie, North Carolina.
Diagnosed with diabetes at the early age of seven, she lived a practically normal life before experiencing major symptoms. At the age of thirty-one, her eyesight failed and she was declared legally blind. Also at that age, her kidneys failed, committing her to receiving dialysis treatments three times a week. Because of her diligent prayer while on dialysis, God restored her sight. A year later, God miraculously open the door to a kidney/pancreas transplant. Patricia was on the transplant waiting list for only four days.
