Children in foster care often have numerous disruptions in their lives. When her children came, they carried hurts in their hearts that many adults would struggle to come to terms with. . Grieving is hard work for an adult with a full range of coping skills, imagine being seven.
Her book is written through the eyes of her youngest daughter. Full of anger, so big, that at times it scared her. Few books were available to help children validate the loss and rejection she was feeling, so she wrote her own.
