He joined the Home Guard on its first day and, after a very short time, was promoted to lance corporal due to attending a crash weapons course at Altcar by the army. At the time of the Christmas blitz, he was aged seventeen. Following this, he served in the RAF and special services known as the Fortitude North group trained for Norway in Scotland. After the war, he worked at the Daily Express Manchester. Nowadays, in his mideighties, he travels around the world and is a known face on the departed Cunard QEII and now the Queen Victoria.lihat lebih sedikit
