Now, as a veteran church planter and world missionary, he specializes in the exposition of some of Holy Scripture’s most ambiguous passages and books. A Song in the Night is his favorite attempt, the result of 23 years of research into the 22nd Book of the Bible, The Song of Songs. Shayne and wife Cathy raised their three children as missionaries. This was a lifestyle highlighted by a 4-year term in a remote Eskimo village in Alaska, amid the great Yukon-Kuskokwim Wildlife Preserve. Presently between mission endeavors though Shayne now writes and has several children’s books in the offing. Titles like, On the Eve of Dawn, Little Shanty Girl, Heath on Table Rock, and Whistle My Arrival, to name a few. A longtime chaplain with Miracle Hill Ministries, Shayne has been dubbed by the clients there “The Raging Rabbi.” But his 9 happy grandchildren just simply, lovingly call him “Papa”. Residing in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains near Travelers Rest, South Carolina, they all enjoy a country lifestyle, pastoral scenes, and a hobby farm together.
