John Forth Amory was the pseudonym of Owen I. A. Roche (July 31, 1910 - March 23, 1973), an American poet, translator and journalist.

Born in Byers, Colorado in 1910, he grew up in Deer Trail and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1933 with a B.A. in Journalism. Whilst at university, he was the editor of the university’s satirical magazine ‘Dodo’ and won a prize in poetry.
During World War II, Amory worked for the British Ministry of Information Counter-Espionage in South America, and in Mexico under Frank Jellinek. He was a reporter for various news organizations, including Hearst News, Pan American News, Novedades in Mexico and United Nations World in Brazil.
He founded Drysdale, Roche, Gibson, Associates, Inc. in 1952. Known as DRGA, it became one of the top international public relation firms of its time.
Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, German and French, Amory also worked for the Brazilian Trade Bureau, wrote speeches for politicians and businessmen, and was a translator.
