He grew up in Palo Alto,earned a BA from Brown University and a MBA from the University of Southern California. He was an officer in the U.S. Navy right after college, and has worked for over twenty years for IBM, primarily in sales technical support positions. Micks has lived in Honolulu HI, Bremerton WA, Redondo Beach CA, Stamford CT, and, for the past 10 years, back in his home town of Palo Alto.
