I often wonder why many authors use a pseudonym when publishing a book. Now, with such understandings, I also prefer to utilize an alias to represent me throughout the writing community’s.
My family has often said in jest that I was like an old oak tree, so I feel it is an appropriate title because of description given to a Willow Oak.
A Willow Oak tree roots itself deep into the ground spreading its roots as extensions while above the ground extends its branches upward and outward in consistent directions producing entire coverings of delicate leaves. The core of a Willow Oak is a hard, heavy, solid wood that is used to build many buildings that represents the legacy of the tree.
At this time I claim the pen name Willow Oakes to honor my maternal heritage and to proceed with my own family legacy.
