Her roots are in Wellesley and Reading, Massachusetts but she moved to the foothills of southwestern Maine in 1995 with her husband, Captain Arthur Melanson. Mrs. Melanson is now an herbalist in South Hiram, Maine, creating medicinal potions from green things most people are trying to eliminate from their lawns.
