A recipient of several awards- including the 'Best Book Award' in English language from the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages-he has published four anthologies, a travelogue, and two volumes of short stories.
Dr. Chowdhury is also an academic, researcher and a practicing physician. He runs a charitable hospital at Jammu and has researched and written extensively on the Health Trauma of Kashmiri Pandit Refugees.
