She combined her two interests and one oddity to write several other historical novels featuring unconventional, independent and adventurous women in the Gilded Age and the Progressive Era. Her novels are Thunder in the Mountain, Quest of the Heart, and Eye of the Beholder. Joelene earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
