He lives in Suffolk with his long-suffering wife and works somewhere in a dark corner of Essex. He is reluctant to reveal the precise nature of his employment, for fear of reprisals. Jay Klements is, in fact, a nom de plume for the same reason. The real Jay also thinks that makes him sound mysterious and interesting, but then he thinks wearing a beard makes him appear edgy and subversive so his judgement can hardly be trusted.
Jay has spent a lifetime reading but has no credentials as a writer, other than knowing some long words which he sometimes manages to use correctly. No Good Deed is his first novel. Frankly, at the rate he writes, it may well be his last. He’s been called many things beginning with p but prolific isn’t one of them.
