A specialist in American history, he was the author of Colonial and Revolutionary Morris County (1975), commissioned by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders as part of New Jersey’s celebration of the Bicentennial. His other books included Pennsylvania Politics and the Growth of Democracy, 1740-1776 (1953), Yorktown, Campaign of Strategic Options (1975), and The Making of a Scapegoat: Washington and Lee at Monmouth (1976).
Dr. Thayer retired from Rutgers University in 1974, and died on February 17, 1981 in Alpine, California, aged 76.lihat lebih sedikit
