He has a PhD in Modern English History and Literature and has published on the impact of the Industrial Revolution on the landed society, 1688-1832. His interest in science fiction, fantasy and horror has been crucial to his development as a writer of fiction and nonfiction. When not reading and writing, he enjoys exercising, country walks and sightseeing.
