Her passions are permaculture, animals and self development.She recently spent five years 'off the grid' in outback Northern Territory in Australia with no power, running water, phone or internet and leaving a small environmental footprint. She and her then partner dealt with floods, drought, huge snakes, wild buffalo, cattle and feral pigs and the occasional crocodile.They grew a lot of their own food and enjoyed being close to nature in a very sparsely populated area surrounded by vast cattle stations, Aboriginal land and the iconic Litchfield Park, with spectacular bush and storms, sunrises and sunsets.Gail then moved to Queensland where she survived a direct hit from the biggest cyclone to ever hit the country and was again without life's 'essentials' for many months.This prompted her to start writing books on dealing with isolation, simple and cheap living, being resourceful and using the resources at hand. She is working on a soon to be published novel on her life and experiences living and facing challenges much as an early pioneer would have.Now in tropical north Queensland and living in an old sugarcane cutters' cottage, she is enjoying catching up with new technology, establishing a new garden and working on writing.lihat lebih sedikit
