She is currently director of ecumenical and interreligious affairs for the diocese. She is the author of fifteen books. They include prose works on biblical spirituality and environmental ethics and three collections of poetry focused on the experience of racial and ethnic minorities and those living with chronic illness. The Catholic Miscellany has run her biweekly column since 2015.
