After his four years of military service, he received his Bachelor's degree at Dallas Baptist University and his Master's degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.Johnnie has served churches as pastor and educator since 1975. He has been employed by a daily newspaper as a contributing writer, which included numerous front-page articles, and has written for several monthly national and international journals and news outlets (Baptist Press).Johnnie is married to Diane (Leroy) and they have two children and ten grandchildren.
