Prior to her journalistic career, she did a PhD in Astrophysics at Cardiff University. She regularly speaks at astronomy societies, conventions and other science events, and in the last five years has made over 100 international, national and regional media appearances on TV and radio (including BBC TV and radio, Sky News and Al Jeezera) as an expert on all manner of space and astronomy stories.
